Born and raised in Philadelphia, award-winning actress Kim Delaney starred as Claudia Joy Holden on the Lifetime series ARMY WIVES from 2007-2012. She earned an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Detective Diane Russell on ABC's acclaimed series NYPD BLUE. She also received two Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for Best Actress in a Television Drama.
Following her departure from NYPD BLUE, she starred in Steven Bochco's ABC drama PHILLY as well as the premiere season of CBS's CSI: MIAMI. Her other roles on television include Leslie Kleinberg in L.A. LAW, Alex Devlin in TOUR OF DUTY, Rebecca Bloom in THE O.C., and Captain Julia Millfield in LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT.
On the big screen, she appeared in Brian De Palma's MISSION TO MARS, starring Gary Sinise and Tim Robbins, the military action movie THE DELTA FORCE starring Chuck Norris, and suspenseful thriller THE DRIFTER with Timothy Bottoms.
Kim studied acting with renowned coach Bill Esper before landing the memorable role of Jenny Gardner on the ABC daytime drama ALL MY CHILDREN, for which she earned her first Emmy nomination. During that time, she also performed in several stage productions, including the off-Broadway production of LOVING RENO.
She has also starred in several well-received movies for television, including the CBS/Paramount movie DARK TARGET opposite David Keith; the award-winning THE BROKEN CORD opposite Jimmy Smits; Jackie Collins' LADY BOSS; TALL, DARK and DEADLY; CLOSER AND CLOSER; and ALL LIES END IN MURDER. She also starred in and co-produced the ABC made-for-television thriller THE DEVIL'S CHILD opposite Thomas Gibson.
