Isla Fisher
Wedding Crashers, The Great Gatsby
Isla Fisher was born in Muscat, Oman, to Scottish parents Elspeth Reid and Brian Fisher, who worked as a banker for the U.N. She spent her early childhood in Scotland before moving to Australia with her family in the early 1980s.
From a young age, Isla showed an interest in both acting and writing. At nine years old, she was appearing in Australian TV commercials. She landed some small parts in the Australian television series BAY COVE (1993). This led to a bigger part in the television series PARADISE BEACH (1993). When that show ended, she landed a role in the long-running Australian soap opera HOME AND AWAY (1988). While working on that show, she engaged in another of her passions, writing, and published two best-selling novels, "Seduced By Fame" and "Bewitched".
She starred as Myrtle Wilson in THE GREAT GATSBY, Baz Luhrmann's 3-D adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan. She is perhaps most widely recognized for her critically acclaimed performance as Vince Vaughn's off-kilter love interest in the blockbuster comedy WEDDING CRASHERS (2005).
Isla appeared alongside Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Rebel Wilson in the comedy BACHELORETTE and has lent her voice to characters in films such as RISE OF THE GUARDIANS, RANGO ("Beans"), and HORTON HEARS A WHO! She also appeared in several episodes of the fourth season of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, released in 2013.
Additional film credits include the black comedy BURKE AND HARE directed by John Landis; the title role in P.J. Hogan's CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC, based on the best-selling book series by Sophie Kinsella; the romantic comedy DEFINITELY, MAYBE, with Ryan Reynolds; HOT ROD, with Andy Samberg; THE LOOKOUT, written and directed by Scott Frank and also starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jeff Daniels; Michael Ian Black's WEDDING DAZE, with Jason Biggs; David O. Russell's I HEART HUCKABEES; and SCOOBY-DOO, as part of an ensemble cast.
Isla is married to English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen and they have three children.
