Jeremy Jordan currently plays Winslow "Winn" Schott in SUPERGIRL on CBS. He is well-known for his role in the television series SMASH. His other television credits include ELEMENTARY and LAW & ORDER: SVU.
Jordan was always a singer, but at the age of 17, he accidentally fell in love with acting when he was cast as the Mute in the musical THE FANTASTICKS. After high school, he went on to study drama at Ithaca College and moved to New York City after graduating in 2007.
Jordan landed his first Broadway role in ROCK OF AGES. In December of 2009, he left the show to play Tony in Broadway's WEST SIDE STORY, after which he originated the role of Clyde Barrow opposite Laura Osnes in the new musical, BONNIE & CLYDE, for which he won a Theatre World Award.
In 2011, Jordan was cast as the lead in Disney's world premiere production of NEWSIES at Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey. He went on to star in the Broadway version of NEWSIES and received Tony and Grammy Award nominations for his role as Jack Kelly. Four months into the run, he began filming a series regular role in SMASH by day while continuing to star in NEWSIES in the evenings. Soon afterwards, he left NEWSIES to film SMASH full time. In September of 2012, he married fellow Broadway actress Ashley Spencer.
In 2014, Jordan starred in the film adaptation of THE LAST FIVE YEARS, the cult musical from Jason Robert Brown, which was directed by Richard LaGravenese. He also appeared in JOYFUL NOISE (2012) directed by Todd Graff and starring Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah.
Jordan was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is a singer-songwriter in his spare time and is working on his first album.
