Stephen Bishop
Singer-Songwriter
Stephen Bishop (Bish) has been nominated for two Grammys and an Oscar. His major hits include On and On, Save It For a Rainy Day, Everybody Needs Love, and It Might Be You, from the movie Tootsie.
As well as writing and singing on numerous film scores, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Barbra Streisand, Art Garfunkel, Kenny Loggins, Johnny Mathis, Phoebe Snow, David Crosby, The Four Tops, Aswad, and Pavarotti have all recorded songs penned by Bish.
In addition to singing the theme song for National Lampoon's Animal House, Stephen had a cameo role as the aspiring folk singer whose guitar is smashed by John Belushi. He still keeps the smashed guitar as a memento. He appeared in another John Landis movie, The Blues Brothers, as the 'charming trooper' who breaks his watch during the mall chase.
Stephen has been nominated for a two Grammy’s and an Oscar nomination for his song, Separate Lives.
His newest release is "Saudade AKA Romance in Rio" (2007):
• Stephen Bishop joins legendary Brazilian guitarist Oscar Castro-Neves
• Created exclusively for Target Spotlight, this Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter offers entrancing melodies and swaying rhythms
• Saudade (pronounced "SOW-DODGE-EE") means to have an earnest, heartfelt longing, especially for something or someone beyond reach
• Bishop's fans can enjoy what is perhaps his most intimate offering yet, an enticing soundtrack to the eternal dance of the heart
