Ami Bluebell Dolenz comes a showbiz family. Her father is Micky Dolenz of The Monkees, and her mother is British model/designer Samantha Juste. Her paternal grandparents were the films actors George Dolenz and Janelle Johnson.
At 15, she decided she wanted to become an actress. Three years later, she received two Young Artist Awards nominations ('Best Young Actress') for her work as Melissa McKee in the daytime drama series General Hospital (1987-1989).
After leaving General Hospital, she co-starred opposite Tony Danza in She's Out of Control.
In 1990, she portrayed Sloan Peterson in the television series Ferris Bueller.
She went on to star in Children of the Night (1991), Miracle Beach (1992), Witchboard 2: The Devil's Doorway (1993), and Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1994).
Her television credits also include roles in Murder, She Wrote, Saved by the Bell: The College Years, Pacific Blue, and Teen Angel. In 1998, she voiced a character for the children's show, The Secret Files of the Spy Dogs.
Ami is currently working on a horror film, Room and Board, with Robert Loggia, William Katt, and Charles Durning.

In addition to acting, she manages KidPix Productions with her husband, actor and martial artist Jerry Trimble Jr.. The company stages birthday parties for children as movie shoots. She also performs with the Write Act Repertory Theatre.
