Actress: The Young and the Restless
Emily O'Brien was born in Bedfordshire, England but moved with her family to Carlsbad, California when she was 9 years old. Her mother is Persian and her father is British. Emily speaks Persian fluently as well as French and Spanish.
Emily's acting career began in the theater, and that remains a passion. She has performed in The Vagina Monologues and The Trial of the Catonsville Nine, the latter with her castmates from The Young and the Restless. She was a finalist in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Irene Ryan Acting Competition, and won a 3rd place award for Othello in the DTASC Shakespeare Festival.
Her theater experience provided a solid foundation for working on daytime television in The Young and the Restless where she has portrayed Jana Hawkes since 2006. In 2008, she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.
She enters the world of new media with a series of mobisodes called Coma and recently worked with digital animation company Image Metrics, becoming the new face of animation.
