Ann B. Davis is a television actress best known for playing the role of Alice in The Brady Bunch.
She grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania where she attended Strong Vincent High School. In 1948, she graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Theatre.
Her first big break in television was the role of Charmaine 'Schultzy' Schultz in The Bob Cummings Show for which she won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
She played housekeeper Alice Nelson in The Brady Bunch television series, and various Brady Bunch sequel series and TV movies. The show originally aired from September 26, 1969, to March 8, 1974 on ABC and was subsequently syndicated internationally.
Davis never completely retired from acting. In her later years she appeared in several disposable mop commercials featuring famous television domestics and has appeared in a number of Brady Bunch reunion projects, such as TV Land's The Brady Bunch 35th Anniversary Reunion Special: Still Brady After All These Years.
On April 22, 2007, The Brady Bunch was awarded the TV Land Pop Culture Award. Ann B. Davis and other cast members accepted the award and she received a standing ovation.
Ann lives with fellow parishioners near San Antonio, Texas, where she is involved in prayer, bible study, and charity work.
