Growing up in the suburbs of Metro Detroit, standing 6'7" tall, Daniel Gottlieb, or "Yoga Dan," had childhood dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. Dan pursued his dreams while simultaneously attaining his Bachelors of Interdisciplinary studies degree in Sociology and Mass Communications from Arizona State University.
As a collegiate athlete, Dan's body went through tremendous force and eventually he found himself unable to perform competitively. From his injured state, he discovered the life-enhancing, heart opening practice of yoga. Dan found his true path.
Dan’s life is a testament to the healing power yoga has had on his own voyage to awaken, inspire and rehabilitate the body. Upon completion of his first Teachers Training in 2003, Dan has been taking his love of yoga all over North America.
While living in Arizona, Daniel was involved with a web series titled Yoga as an Afternoon Snack, where he brought his own therapeutic, playful and light-hearted teaching style viral.
Dan has taught yoga In Arizona, California, Canada and most recently, has moved back to his home state of Michigan, where he continues teaching and exploring the many healing benefits of yoga through his practice. His passion is to inspire and assist others to align with their greatest potential while spreading the love of yoga all over the globe with a message of peace.
Dan is a peace activist, actor, model and devoted yoga practitioner who is rooted in the Vinyasa tradition. He extends deepest gratitude to all of his teachers and students who have inspired him beyond his own reach.
