Baltimore Orioles Center Fielder
Adam Jones (born August 1, 1985, in San Diego, California) is an outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles. He was originally drafted as a shortstop/right-handed pitcher by the Seattle Mariners with the 37th pick of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft.
On February 8, 2008, Jones was traded to the Baltimore Orioles and went on to become their starting center fielder.
In 2009, he started the year off strong and on July 5, 2009 Adam was selected to represent Baltimore in the 2009 All Star Game where he drove in Curtis Granderson off a sac fly for the winning run in the American League's 4-3 victory.
Throughout the 2009 season, he played center field exclusively. Unfortunately, he sprained his left ankle in August and missed the end of the 2009 season.
On November 10, 2009, Adam Jones was awarded a Gold Glove for his defensive play in center field during the 2009 season.
