Friends, 17 Again
Matthew Perry is perhaps best known for playing Chandler Bing on NBC's long-running series Friends (1994-2004). He has also earned praise for his work in a broad range of film and television projects.
While known primarily for his comedic roles, Matthew has carved out a career in drama as well, particularly in his portrayal of Associate White House Counsel Joe Quincy in Aaron Sorkin's The West Wing. His three appearances in that series (twice in the fourth season and once in the fifth) earned him two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2003 and 2004.
In May 2003, Matthew realized a long-held goal when he made his professional stage debut in London's West End in David Mamet's Sexual Perversity in Chicago with Minnie Driver, Hank Azaria, and Kelly Reilly. The production broke the record for the largest box office advance for a West End show.
He played Matt Albie in all but one of the 22 episodes of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006-2007) and was the Adult Mike O'Connell in 17 Again (2009) with Zac Efron as the teen version of the same character.
He received his latest Emmy nod in 2007 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie, for his work in the title role of the tru-life TNT telefilm The Ron Clark Story.
Matthew is a longtime supporter of the Lili Claire Foundation and hosts their annual gala to raise funds for those born with Williams Syndrome and other neurogenetic birth defects.
