Lea Thompson has been a fixture in the entertainment industry since the 1980s when she played Miss Amanda Jones in John Hughes' Some Kind of Wonderful and Marty McFly's romantically misguided mother in the Back to the Future films.
Other movie credits include Dennis the Menace, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Little Rascals, and Spy School.
From 1995-1999, she starred in NBC's Caroline in the City and won a People's Choice Award in 1996 for her role in this series.
From 2005-2008, she played Cathy Davis/Jane Doe in nine Hallmark Jane Doe films.
Lea is married to film director Howard Deutch, whom she first met on the set of Some Kind of Wonderful. They have two daughters, Madeline (born 1991) and Zoey (born 1995).
Lea is excited about some current projects. She has a new pilot for the TNT Network called Uncle Nigel, she is doing a movie called The Convincer with Alan Arkin, Bob Balaban, Greg Kinnear and Billy Crudup and she produced a movie called Mayor Cupcake with her children.
