The Young & The Restless, Days of Our Lives
Eileen Davidson originated the role of Jabot Cosmetics executive Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless in 1982. She departed the show in 1989 and returned in 1999. From 2007-2008, Davidson starred as Ashley Abbott on the daytime drama series The Bold and the Beautiful In October, 2008 she re-joined the "Y&R" cast. Ashley has faced tragedy and mental breakdowns, but remains a strong advocate for her family and Jabot.
Davidson was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2003. She was also nominated for a Soap Opera Award for Favorite Return in 1999.
In 1998, she made daytime television history for portraying five characters at one time on Days of Our Lives, and was honored with a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performances. She previously portrayed Kelly Capwell on the daytime drama Santa Barbara Davidson also starred in the primetime television series Broken Badges and the telefilm Sharing Richard with Ed Marinaro.
Her feature film credits include starring roles in Eternity with Jon Voight and Armand Asssante, Easy Wheels with Paul Le Mat, and the horror film cult favorite House on Sorority Row
This summer, she'll be seen as Mrs. Sybil Fudge in Hell and Mr. Fudge with Mackenzie Astin. This movie is based on a true story that took place in the mid-1970's when Edward Fudge, a young preacher in Athens Alabama, was approached by an eccentric Australian man who offered to hire him to prove whether or not an eternally burning Hell exists.
She wrote her first novel "Death in Daytime" which debuted in November, 2008. Her second novel, "Dial Emmy for Murder", was released in June, 2009, and her third novel, "Diva Las Vegas" was released in July, 2010. Her fourth book, "Swingin' in the Rain," is coming out on June 15.
Davidson is also the spokesperson for the "Nubrilliance" microdermabrasion system and has also been the spokesperson for the renowned skincare product Prevage from Elizabeth Arden and Allergan.
A Southern California native, she lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Vincent Van Patten; her son, Jesse; and two stepsons, Duke and Vinny. When Davidson is not working, she surfs, snow skis, scuba dives, plays piano, paints and enjoys writing.
