Haydn was last seen in New York earlier this year at BAM's Harvey Theater, playing Queen Elizabeth opposite Kevin Spacey's Richard III, in Sam Mendes's acclaimed Bridge Project production, following a season at London's Old Vic Theatre and a sell-out world tour.
She had previously starred on Broadway, recreating her role as the dance teacher, from the original London Production of Billy Elliot The Musical, winning a Drama Desk, Outer Critics circle, & Theater World Awards for Best Actress in a musical, as well as nominations for an Olivier & a Tony Award.
She was also nominated for an Olivier for her role in the West End Production of Cy Coleman & Larry Gelbart's City Of Angels. She originated the role of Mary in Shelagh Stephenson's The Memory Of Water, & last year appeared in the British Premiere of Becky Shaw at the Almeida Theatre.
Haydn has made numerous appearances with the Royal Shakespeare Company, including Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Aase/Solveig in Peer Gynt, and Mistress Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor, alongside Judi Dench & Simon Callow.
Haydn is best known on television in the UK for her lead roles in Peak Practice, Mersey Beat, Nice Work, & Drop The Dead Donkey, winning three Royal Television Society Awards for Best Actress, & nominations for a British Comedy Award & a BAFTA. She played Calpurnia in HBO's ROME, & was most recently seen guest starring in hit TV shows Sherlock, Midsomer Murders and Lewis, as well as appearing in Hunky Dory, a feature film starring Minnie Driver set in a Swansea High School in the long, hot summer of 1976.
