Donald Hendricks studied with Dagmar Freuchen at the Art Students League in New York. His work has appeared in most major magazines and he has illustrated more than 40 books, including cookbooks, novels, and books for children (the most recent being Brave Donatella and the Jasmine Thief which was a Premiere Selection of the Junior Library Guild in 2010).
His work has been exhibited in a number of galleries and museums including the Gilardi Museum in Italy, the Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles, and the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.
Donald is a past member of the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. He contributes to the online art magazine Pasticcio Quartz and is currently working on a book for children which he has written himself.
