Canadian born Shannon Tweed was raised on a mink ranch in Newfoundland. Imported by Playboy as Miss November 1981, she was named Playmate of the Year in 1982, as well as Hugh Hefner's love interest.
Soon Shannon was appearing as a regular on CBS's Falcon Crest, NBC's Days of Our Lives, HBO's First and Ten and the WB's Tom Arnold Show and My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star with Oliver Hudson.
Shannon has guest starred on a range of shows, including Fantasy Island, Frasier, Married with Children, Wings, Nash Bridges, Murder She Wrote, and The United States of Tara.
Her autobiography, "Kiss and Tell", was published in August of 2006.
Shannon married her longtime boyfriend (28 years) Gene Simmons on October 1, 2011. They have two children, Nick (b. 1989) and Sophie Alexandra (b. 1992) and live in Beverly Hills, California. They all star in a reality television show on A&E entitled Gene Simmons Family Jewels: Season 7 Premiere - Monday, May 28 (seen in 84 countries around the world!).
