Everybody Loves Raymond
Brad Garrett was born on April 14th, 1960 and raised in Woodland Hills, California. After graduating from high school, he began performing his stand-up act at comedy clubs across Los Angeles and was the first winner of Star Search in 1984. Brad was only 23 years old when he made his first appearance on THE TONIGHT SHOW Starring Johnny Carson, making him one of the youngest comedians ever to perform on the program. As his career took off he began headlining at national venues as well as opening for legends including Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Julio Iglesias, Liza Minnelli and Sammy Davis Jr. In 1989, The Las Vegas Review Journal named Garrett the "Best Comedian" working on the Strip.
Garrett made his foray into the world of television with roles on shows including ROSANNE, MAD ABOUT YOU and SEINFELD, though he is best known for his role as Ray Romano's big brother Robert on the hit CBS series EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND. In 2002, 2003 and 2005 he garnered Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Also in 2002, Brad played Jackie Gleason in the critically acclaimed telefilm GLEASON, for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Movie or Miniseries. He also performed on Broadway in Neil Simon’s THE ODD COUPLE. He is presently co-starring in the new ABC sitcom HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE which is scheduled to debut on April 3, 2013 at 9:30 pm ET. It also stars Sarah Chalke and Elizabeth Perkins.
Several of Garrett’s film credits include MUSIC AND LYRICS, SUICIDE KINGS, THE PACIFIER, and Woody Allen's SWEET AND LOWDOWN. Brad can also be seen in the upcoming film BURT WONDERSTONE with Steve Carrell, as well as NOT FADE AWAY, written and directed by David Chase.
Garrett has leant his voice to a multitude of characters including Bloat in FINDING NEMO, FATSO in Casper, Dim in A BUG'S LIFE, and Gusteau in RATATOUILLE. He can be heard in NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM and as Hookhand in Disney’s TANGLED. Most recently, Brad has completed voicing the role of Chug in PLANES for Pixar/Disney.
In 2012, Garrett opened his own comedy club at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Being one of the first comedians to work at the property when it opened in 1993, and after many years of headlining at the MGM sister property Mirage, Garrett is thrilled to once again be a part of the MGM family. He hopes the club will continue to provide both legendary comedians and the next generation of comics with a place to call "home" in Las Vegas.
