Kim Holt is a freelance illustrator based in Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. She has an awesome family, two boys and the best husband ever, a cooky Jack Russell terrier and a "pet" raccoon that lives on her deck.
Since childhood, she has been interested in art, and knew at an early age that she would do art for a living. By day, she works as a graphics professional and by night, she does freelance and personal projects.
She has a BBA in Marketing and a short while back decided to pursue her goal of becoming an animator/illustrator and got her BFA in Animation. The approach she takes with her work is to make it relatable and whimsical.
Kim's work has been described as energetic, expressive, dynamic and full of personality. Typically incorporating a vibrant and fresh color palette, her illustrations are created in watercolor, gouache, acrylic and digital media. She is available for freelance work in children's, young adult, and editorial illustration.
