Kevin James is an actor, comedian, writer, and producer who is widely known for playing Doug Heffernan on the CBS sitcom THE KING OF QUEENS (1998-2007) which won him a 2006 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
James first appeared on TV as the announcer for the MTV sports game show SANDBLAST from 1994 to 1996. His first one-hour stand up comedy special in 2001, SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF, which aired on Comedy Central, was the first hour-long original stand-up special ever in the network's history.
In 2005, along with Ray Romano, Kevin starred in and executive produced the HBO Sports special MAKING THE CUT: KEVIN JAMES & RAY ROMANO. The documentary, which centered on attempting to make the cut at the annual Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Tournament, was nominated for a Sports Emmy.
James broke into the film world in 2005 in the feature film HITCH alongside Will Smith and Eva Mendes. Additionally, he voiced characters in the 2005 animated feature films THE BARNYARD (as Otis) and MONSTER HOUSE (as Office Landers). In 2012, he was the voice of Frankenstein in HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA.
James' film credits also include I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY, PAUL BLART: MALL COP, GROWN UPS, THE DILEMMA, ZOOKEEPER, and HERE COMES THE BOOM for which he received a 2013 Grace Award nomination for Most Inspiring Performance in Movies.
This summer, he'll be seen in GROWN UPS 2.
