Morgan Karr
Broadway's "Spring Awakening"
For award-winning entertainer MORGAN KARR, luck is not something that happens to you; luck is something you create. A Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter, Morgan was born in Nashville where he began voice & piano lessons at the age of nine. Growing up in the heart of Music City exposed him to genres ranging from country and gospel to pop music and musical theater. Through these influences and inspirations, he's cultivated a style that is unmistakably his own.
Following a successful 2010, where Morgan won first place in "Amateur Night" at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, he released his self-titled EP on May 11th, 2011, co-produced by Grammy-nominated Producer Juan PatiƱo (Lisa Loeb's "Stay"), Kevin Fisher (Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans), and Cliff Goldmacher. The EP broke the top 100 Singer/Songwriters on iTunes in the first week of its release. In 2012 he won the John Lennon Songwriting Competition through Sonicbids to perform at the annual NAMM Convention in Anaheim.
Morgan has called Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Nashville home - but home is a feeling and his music, a reflection. Many may remember Morgan from his work on Broadway in the 8-time Tony Award and Grammy-winning pop musical "Spring Awakening," but along the way he has gained an international following. Morgan's videos have over 100,000 views on YouTube and he maintains active profiles on Twitter and Facebook. Most unique to Morgan is his online street team -- the 11:11 Army -- which boasts members from around the world. 11:11 is a reminder that inspiration can come in any shape or form or moment. The key is to remain open to it.
