Graphic Novelist: I Kill Giants, Four Eyes
Joe Kelly is the creator of the lauded graphic novel I KILL GIANTS, which was awarded the 5th annual International Manga Award from Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a rare feat for an American. His original graphic novel FOUR EYES was a YALSA "Great Graphic Novel for Teens" selection. Joe is credited with writing "The best Superman story of all time" in Action Comics #775 - WHAT'S SO FUNNY ABOUT TRUTH, JUSTICE & THE AMERICAN WAY? - which Kelly adapted to a feature animation home video for Warner Brothers released in June, 2012 to great reviews.
He broke into the comics industry in 1995 as the first successful "graduate" of the STAN-HATTAN PROJECT, a writing workshop conducted as a joint venture between MARVEL COMICS and NEW YORK UNIVERSITY'S Department of Dramatic Writing.
He is a member of the MAN OF ACTION collective with Joe Casey, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle. They created the series BEN 10, currently airing on the Cartoon Network. They also created the show GENERATOR REX, which also ran for two seasons on the Cartoon Network. They are producers/story editors of the shows ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN and MARVEL'S AVENGERS ASSEMBLE airing on Disney XD. Casey also co-created the animated property DISCO DESTROYER with Scott Mosier and Jim Mahfood.
