Janet Ulrich Brooks is a highly accomplished theater actress who has worked steadily in Chicago's most distinguished theaters. She is a company member at Timeline Theatre Company where she has appeared in more than 10 productions including 33 Variations, A Walk in the Woods, All My Sons, When She Danced, Not Enough Air and Weekend. She has been seen at the Goodman Theater in The Seagull and A True History of the Johnstown Flood. Other recent credits include South of Settling at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Ten Chimneys at Northlight Theatre, The Original Grease at American Theater Company, Pony at About Face Theatre and Jacob and Jack at Victory Gardens Theater.
Other Chicago credits include portraying Golda Mier in Golda’s Balcony at Pegasus Players; Richard III and A Lie of the Mind at Strawdog Theatre Company; The Seagull and The Doctor’s Dilemma at Writers’ Theatre; and work with Collaboraction’s Sketchbook Festival.
Her film credits include CONVICTION with Hilary Swank, POLISH BAR, I HEART SHAKEY, and DIVERGENT with Shailene Woodley.
Television credits include BOSS, UNDEREMPLOYED, THE PLAYBOY CLUB, THE CHICAGO CODE, ONE SMALL HITCH (TV Movie). On television in 2014, she plays Secret Service Director Kate Holland in NBC's series CRISIS, a conspiracy thriller starring Gillian Anderson, Dermot Mulroney, Rachael Taylor, Lance Gross, and REVENGE alum Max Martini as the villain.
Janet has an MFA in Acting from Western Illinois University and was the first recipient of the Ed See Outstanding Theatre Alumnus Award from the University of Central Missouri.
