When her sister ends up in prison and her brother-in-law flees after a scandal hits, Mel must take responsibility for her teenaged niece, Lennox, and nephew, Ryder. Help comes in the unlikely form of Joe, who moves in and becomes the family’s manny.

Joey Lawrence (Joe Longo)
Joey Lawrence has grown up in front of his fans and has successfully made the transition from teen icon to a legitimate actor. He continues to build his audience whether through film, television or performing live on stage. He is an executive-producer of MELISSA & JOEY along with his co-star, Melissa Joan Hart. Joey and Melissa also starred in the ABC Family Original Movie, MY FAKE FIANCE which was the No. 1 TV movie of the 2008/09 season among Women 18-34.
He has long been a television favorite. He first began working at age six on GIMME A BREAK (1983-1987) and followed that show with another hit TV series, BLOSSOM (1990-1995), in which he played Joey Russo, a dim-witted young man who frequently uttered the phrase "Whoa!," which became a national catchphrase. His next television series was BROTHERLY LOVE (1995-1997) with his brothers Matthew and Andrew followed by AMERICAN DREAMS (2002-2003), RUN OF THE HOUSE (2003-2004), and HALF & HALF (2005-2006). He's guest-starred in numerous television shows including CALIFORNICATION in 2013. Joey is married with two daughters and currently resides in Los Angeles.

Taylor Spreitler (Lennox Scanlon)
Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Taylor got her first taste of the entertainment industry at the age of six when she won a statewide talent and beauty contest. Shortly thereafter, she began booking print ad campaigns and was featured in ads for Saks 5th Avenue, Macy's, Lands End, Avon, McCalls Brides, Parents Magazine, Junior Magazine and Child Magazine, which featured her on the cover.
After spending a few summers modeling, Spreitler wanted to try acting. A natural, she booked her first audition, a national campaign for Motrin. It didn't take long before she added many other national commercials to her resume, as well as landing a notable guest-starring appearance on LAW & ORDER: SVU (2005). She portrayed the role of Mia McCormick on the NBC soap opera DAYS OF OUR LIVES from January 2009 until June 2010. In 2012, she played the lead role in Lifetime's thriller STALKED AT 17.

Nick Robinson (Ryder Scanlon)
Nick Robinson grew up in Seattle with his mom, dad and six siblings. At the age of two, he had already developed an eye for the classics such as 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA and DAVY CROCKETT. When a theater friend suggested he meet and audition for famed talent scout Matt Casella, he and his family jumped at the chance. Casella recommended Nick to a couple of talent agencies in Los Angeles and The Savage Agency signed him immediately. In the summer of 2009, Nick worked with several acting coaches and began auditioning for television work. Before landing the role of Ryder in MELISSA & JOEY, he appeared in Disney Channel's FRENEMIES (2012), BOARDWALK EMPIRE (2012), and THE KINGS OF SUMMER, an independent coming-of-age comedy-drama film that premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
