Chicago Cubs' iconic pitcher - National League Rookie of the Year (1998) and All Star (2003, 2008). He holds MLB records for fastest to reach 1,000 strikeouts in MLB (in appearances), 134 games. He was the fastest to reach 1,000 strikeouts in MLB history, in 853 innings pitched. He holds a share of record with the most strikeouts in a 9 inning game, 20. Kerry retired in 2012 striking out the final batter he faced to a standing ovation at Wrigley Field!

Kerry and his wife, Sarah, founded the Wood Family Foundation to improve the lives of children in and around Chicago.
