Zach Galifianakis came to prominence with his Comedy Central Presents special in 2001 followed by his own show called LATE WORLD WITH ZACH on VH1 the following year. He has also starred in films, such as THE HANGOVER trilogy (2009–2013), DUE DATE (2010), THE CAMPAIGN (2012), BIRDMAN OR (THE UNEXPECTED VIRTUE OF IGNORANCE) (2014), MASTERMINDS (2016), KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES (2016) alongside Jon Hamm, Isla Fisher and Gal Gadot, and THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE (2017, voice of The Joker).
He also hosted the Emmy Award-winning talk show BETWEEN TWO FERNS WITH ZACH GALIFIANAKIS on the Funny or Die website. He executive produces, writes and stars in the dark comedy series BASKETS on FX.
In a departure from comedy, Galifianakis starred in the Focus Features film IT'S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY (2010) where he played a patient in a mental hospital, bringing his warmth and humor to the character of "Bobby."
Other film credits include DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS opposite Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, the independent feature YOUTH IN REVOLT, the Jerry Bruckheimer produced live-action Disney feature G-FORCE which debuted at #1 and grossed over $290 million worldwide, as well as a cameo role in Jason Reitman’s Academy Award nominated film UP IN THE AIR. He also appeared in the critically acclaimed feature INTO THE WILD from Paramount Vantage and director Sean Penn.
Galifianakis starred opposite Michael Keaton, Naomi Watts, Emma Stone and Ed Norton in the 2015 Oscar winner for Best Motion Picture of the Year, BIRDMAN OR (THE UNEXPECTED VIRTUE OF IGNORANCE). In 2017, he stared in TULIP FEVER with Alicia Vikander and Dane DeHaan. Zach plays The Happy Medium in Ava DuVernay's A WRINKLE IN TIME (2018).
On television, Galifianakis starred in the HBO comedy BORED TO DEATH with Jason Schwartzman and Ted Danson, which ran for three seasons. He also hosted the critically acclaimed VH1 talk show, LATE WORD WITH ZACH as well as writing and starring in DOG BITES MAN for Comedy Central.
