Giancarlo Esposito is a celebrated film, television and stage actor, as well as a director and producer with a career spanning nearly five decades.
Most recently celebrated for his role as the infamous drug kingpin, Gus Fring, on AMC’s hit prequel series, BETTER CALL SAUL. He earned an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and won the Critics' Choice TV Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for originally portraying the iconic role on the acclaimed TV series, BREAKING BAD.
In 2017-18, Esposito was seen on the big screen co-starring in director Bong Joon-Ho’s sci-fi film, OKJA alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton and Paul Dano, among others, and in MAZE RUNNER: THE DEATH CURE returning to the role he first played in 20th Century Fox’s MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS.
Recent television credits include a recurring role on ONCE UPON A TIME and a starring role on NBC’s REVOLUTION for Executive Producer J.J. Abrams.
On film, Esposito is perhaps best known for his memorable performances in films such as THE USUAL SUSPECTS for which he shared an NBR Award for Best Acting by an Ensemble, RABBIT HOLE, SMOKE, BLUE IN THE FACE, and Spike Lee’s DO THE RIGHT THING, SCHOOL DAZE and MALCOLM X.
Also an accomplished stage actor, Esposito has earned acclaim appearing in a number of productions on Broadway and beyond.
He lends his support to various charitable organizations to support arts and education, including the Waterkeeper Alliance, Kids for Peace & World Merit USA.
