Eddie Izzard is a British stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. His dramatic repertoire of resonant and humanistic portrayals have garnered him praise in film, theatre and television. He captivated audiences with his masterful performance as Dr. Abel Gideon in Bryan Fuller's series, HANNIBAL.
Izzard also starred in and served as a producer on the critically acclaimed FX Networks series, THE RICHES, opposite Minnie Driver.
Other highlights from his film career include VALKYRIE opposite Tom Cruise, Steven Soderbergh's OCEAN'S THIRTEEN and OCEAN'S TWELVE opposite George Clooney and Brad Pitt, and Julie Taymor's ACROSS THE UNIVERSE.
He has won multiple awards including two Emmys and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in A DAY IN THE DEATH OF JOE EGG.
Eddie Izzard starred as "Big Bad" Wolfe in POWERS (premiered on March 10, 2015), an online streaming series adaptation of the Powers comic book series published by Marvel Comics. Wolfe is possibly the most powerful and dangerous Power ever born because he has the ability to drain the life force of both humans and Powers at will, becoming stronger and stronger in the process and fueling a multitude of powers which include extreme strength, speed, and massive regeneration.
He is also one of the World’s most respected comedians. He has performed sell out shows across the world from Shanghai to Mumbai including nights at Madison Square Garden and The Hollywood Bowl.
Five years after his last comedy tour FORCE MAJEURE made comedy history having played 45 countries including all 50 US States AND in four languages, making it the most extensive comedy show ever, Eddie is back to his roots with an all-new rather personal show which expands on his own very unique, totally surreal view of life, love, history and his ‘theory of the universe’
WUNDERBAR began life at La Nouvelle Seine, a floating theatre in Paris on the Seine where Eddiebegan to improvise his new show in French. He then flipped countries and continued developing the show, Improvising in Berlin in German. Now after more development in English, he is ready to share WUNDERBAR with the world... but will make sure the language fits the country!
