Lost in Space, The Sound of Music
Angela was born in Altrincham, Cheshire, England and moved to Los Angeles, California with her family when she was three years old. She quickly began working as a child fashion model and by the time she was four, she was well known among top photographers and appeared on numerous magazine covers and advertisements. At the age of three, she made her film debut in SOMEBODY UP THERE LIKES ME as Paul Newman's daughter. Another role followed in the movie SOMETHING OF VALUE with Rock Hudson.
At the age of four Danny Thomas signed Angela to play his daughter Linda Williams on the television series MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY, later called THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW. The series ran for seven years, during which time Angela starred in the Disney movie LAD: A DOG.
Following the Danny Thomas series, Angela was cast as Brigitta von Trapp in the legendary film THE SOUND OF MUSIC. In 1965, she was offered the role of Penny Robinson in LOST IN SPACE, a television show that ran for three years. Both THE SOUND OF MUSIC and LOST IN SPACE are celebrating their 50th Anniversary in 2015.
Continuing to pursue her passion for art and photography, Angela authored 'Mixed Emulsions – Altered Art for Photographic Imagery', which explores her hand-painted photography and her unique altered art techniques. Two more art books followed, 'In This House' and 'In This Garden'.
Angela conceived and collaborated on The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook with her movie von Trapp siblings from the movie THE SOUND OF MUSIC. This unique scrapbook, through photographs and memorabilia, shares their stories of making the film with fans around the world.
Angela continues to write articles on photo art and altered art techniques and self publishes Pasticcio Quartz a Quality ART Zine published twice a year. She has also pioneered and produced a clothing and jewelry line, Angela Cartwright Studio, that incorporates her hand painted photo-art images on natural, easy to wear art.wear and accessories. Her art and photography has been licensed for numerous products and is exhibited and collected around the world.
Released in October 2014 is Styling the Stars: Lost Treasures from the Twentieth Century Fox Archive, Angela's passionate project that offers an exclusive glimpse inside Hollywood's Twentieth Century Fox Studio archives, with never-before-seen photographs and behind the scene images.
