"Closer to garage invention than technological innovation, my work captures twisted tacit aspects of electronics and machines. An interactive experience is provided physically through the use of buttons, knobs, and switches, or through the implication of wishes and desires.
The devices are constructed from a combination of found and fabricated parts. Material combinations of computers, electronics, and wood intentionally collide, resulting in a funky low tech / high tech clash. The often furniture-like quality of my sculpture suggests they deserve to exist in a home or office, but their function makes them unsuitable for such a space. These dada-inspired machines combine decorative assemblage with ridiculous functions.
Complimenting these three-dimensional works, my digital drawings originate or continue the shapes and forms in my sculpture. These drawings, 99% created from scratch with an occasional scanned object, are created in a more spontaneous manner."
Andrew also plays in a band which currently has no name but you can hear demos at his Official Website (under Biography).
