She made her feature film debut playing the daughter of Meg Ryan and Andy Garcia in When a Man Loves a Woman (1994). Shortly afterwards, she starred opposite Ray Liotta and Whoopi Goldberg in Corrina, Corrina (1994) followed by Andre (1994) with Keith Carradine as her father. A year later, Tina starred with Kevin Costner, Jeanne Tripplehorn, and Dennis Hopper in Waterworld (1995).

The surprise smash hit, Napoleon Dynamite (2004) marked her return. She played Deb, Napoleon's sweet crush.
"I like the idea of being able to portray people that if I had met them in real life -- because I know that a lot of my characters are real people -- I wanted to be able to make them feel like they weren’t invisible in the world. I know what that’s like when you are sitting there and nobody really cares and nobody really sees me. I feel that if those people watch one of my films or whatever project I’m doing and they can relate to me, it will probably make them feel better about just being themselves and being alive. I think that’s really important for humanity that we connect in that sense." (Stumped Magazine Interview)
Tina became a regular on the television series Veronica Mars as Cindy 'Mac' Mackenzie (34 episodes, 2004-2007) and also took on the role of Heather Tuttle in HBO's Big Love (12 episodes, 2006-2007).
Next on the big screen, What We Do Is Secret which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival (June 2007) and is now playing at selected film festivals around the country. It's a biographical movie about Darby Crash and The Germs and the birth of punk rock in Hollywood.
Tina has been a hip-hop dance instructor for several years and helped choreograph Jon Heder's dance scene in Napoleon Dynamite.
She has been a trained opera singer since the age of seven and and has her own band called AM Project (alternative/rock/indie): Tina (vocals), Dan (bass), Chris (guitar/vocals), and Kevin, Tina's older brother (drums). Visit them at their MySpace page. They write all their music!
