Julia Louis-Dreyfus earned worldwide acclaim and recognition for her portrayal of Elaine Benes, ex-girlfriend and pal of Jerry Seinfeld, in the hit series Seinfeld (1989-1998). She received an Emmy award, a Golden Globe award, five Screen Actors Guild awards and four American Comedy Awards during the show's nine year run.
Julia first made her mark on television during a three year stint (1982-1985) on Saturday Night Live opposite Billy Crystal, Christopher Guest and Eddie Murphy.
Her other television credits include a recurring role in Arrested Development (2004), Watching Ellie (2002-2003), and The Simpsons (2001 and 2007).
Her feature film credits include the animated hit A Bug's Life (1998; voice of Princess Atta), Deconstructing Harry (1997), Fathers' Day (1997), North (1994), Jack the Bear (1993), and Woody Allen's Academy Award-winning Hannah and Her Sisters (1986).
In 2006, she won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her lead role in the CBS sitcom The New Adventures Old Christine, currently in its third season.
