Steven Mackintosh is an actor probably best known as head chemist Winston in Guy Ritchie's smash hit LOCK, STOCK and TWO SMOKING BARRELS (1998). People still come up to him and say, "Chill Winston" or "Copious amount of ganja" and he loves it.
His first film appearance was in Stephen Frear's PRICK UP YOUR EARS. His other films include MEMPHIS BELLE, TWELFTH NIGHT, and LAND GIRLS with Rachel Weisz and Anna Friel. Other notable films include THE MOTHER, THE JACKET, GOOD with Viggo Mortensen, UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION and UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS. He played Tony in Rupert Wyatt's feature THE ESCAPIST, Kertzer in Film 4's THE SCOUTING BOOK FOR BOYS and Ivan Lewis in the big screen version of THE SWEENEY in 2013.
On television, Steven played John Coniston in the acclaimed INSIDE MEN for BBC 1 in 2012. His other numerous credits include : LUTHER with Idris Elba, LOST CHRISTMAS with Eddie Izzard, THE JURY with Julie Walters, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, ENGLAND EXPECTS, THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL, THE BUDDHA OF SUBURBIA, PRIME SUSPECT, and OUR MUTUAL FRIEND.
Steven won Best Actor at the Royal Television Society Awards and a Best Actor Nomination at the BAFTAs for his role in CARE (2000) for the BBC.
Steven just finished filming OUR ROBOT OVERLORDS with Sir Ben Kinsley and Gillian Anderson. In this film, he plays Danny, husband of Kate (Gillian's character). Look for it in theaters in 2014.
He is married to the actress Lisa Jacobs and they have two children, Martha and Blythe.
