Max Martini is a highly recognizable and respected actor to audiences of film, television and theatre. On big screens now, he plays a SEAL Commander in CAPTAIN PHILLIPS starring Tom Hanks.
In addition to his role as Australian Jaeger pilot Herc Hansen in Guillermo del Toro's PACIFIC RIM, Max's many film roles include starring opposite Jodie Foster in Robert Zemeckis' CONTACT as Willie, a fellow scientist. He also shared the screen with Tom Hanks and Matt Damon in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN as CP Fred Henderson, Ryan's commanding officer, who helped Captain Miller (Hanks) and his men in the brutal final shoot-out of the film.
Martini has also worked in independent films such as BACKROADS, a festival favorite at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival, CEMENT, and TAIL LIGHTS FADE, among others.
His most recent television work was a recurring role on the first season of the ABC hit drama REVENGE. He is, perhaps, most recognizable for his work as Mack Gerhardt on the CBS series THE UNIT, directed by David Mamet. His many other television credits include the SyFy Channel's Emmy-nominated series TAKEN; John Sacret Young's LEVEL 9; Chris Carter's HARSH REALM; and several recurring and guest star roles including 24, HAWAII 5-0, CRIMINAL MINDS, BURN NOTICE, THE MENTALIST, and PERSON OF INTEREST.
Martini is active in the theatre, having co-founded Theatre North Collaborative in NYC, a theatre company of American and Canadian actors dedicated solely to producing new works from both sides of the border. He is also a writer, having written both a film and TV series, which are currently in development.
