Chicago Fire
Kara Killmer currently stars as Sylvie Brett on NBC's CHICAGO FIRE. Sylvie is a fresh-faced young paramedic who has transferred to Firehouse 51 from a rural fire department in Indiana after the sudden breakup of her engagement. Her sunny, unflappable personality is challenged as she starts over, separated for the first time from her small-town roots while assimilating to life as a first responder on the tough streets of Chicago.
Born and raised in Texas, Killmer graduated with a BFA in performance from Baylor University.
Shortly thereafter, she moved to Los Angeles where she was selected from thousands of young actors to star in the Hulu original series IF I CAN DREAM, a show created by Simon Fuller that explored the lives of aspiring actors. Following the series, she was immediately cast in the independent period piece BEYOND THE MASK. Soon after, she had a role in the USA Network pilot HORIZON produced by Gale Ann Hurd.
Her first leading role was in NBC's pilot TIN MAN in 2014.
When Killmer is not working, she enjoys writing, painting, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
