Alex Kingston
Doctor Who, ER
Alex Kingston became universally known to DOCTOR WHO fans as Professor River Song, an archaeologist and raconteur with a hidden connection to the Doctor, in the David Tennant two-parter "Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead". She later returned for a dozen adventures during the Matt Smith era where it was discovered she had been born Melody Pond, daughter of Amy & Rory; possessed the ability to regenerate; and was married to the Doctor, though living her life in a different direction than his (quite literally!) Her last appearance in the program was in the concluding episode of series seven, "The Name of the Doctor," although she has also appeared in the role in the console game THE ETERNITY CLOCK and has appeared in several of the prequel episodes and web featurettes.
Kingston became well known to television audiences for her role as Dr. Elizabeth Corday on NBC's ER and has appeared in such series as ARROW (as Dinah Lance), UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS, MARCHLANDS, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, NCIS, FLASHFORWARD, THE KNOCK, CROCODILE SHOES, WITHOUT A TRACE, HOPE SPRINGS, LOST IN AUSTEN, and PRIVATE PRACTICE. She also has an extensive stage repertoire including appearing in MACBETH opposite Kenneth Branagh.
